This video explains the intense islamophobia and disgusting american gun culture coming together to encroach upon people's right to religious freedom, They say it's a peaceful rally but it is obviously racially charged and disgustingly islamophobic. The video briefly references another incident where two muslim men that were peacefully praying turned violent and attacked the “ralliers” and then were killed by a police officer, these men were wrong in taking violence into the matter but it wasn't unprovoked  the people attending the rally were being insanely islamophobic and were bullying these people.

GOOD. These police officers deserve more than what they're getting, “‘ Criminals feel empowered now. There is no respect. Police are under siege in every quarter.’” As there should be, in my opinion, there is no respect because they do not deserve respect. These officers aren't the problem though. The problem at hand is protecting African-american citizens and punishing the police officers that commit these heinous murders.

This article immediately upset me I don't think that the police had any reason to drop the idea of a hate crime, and pursue other options around his death. I think that especially with the light that incidents like Ferguson, and Baltimore have shed on the white american population. Lynchings can be prevalent all over the U.S. and not just in the south, but i do think that lynchings are more likely to take place in the south. I think the other thing to look into is the reason why they determined its not a hate crime I think we should  look into the cops that declared it not a hate crime, I don't think any officer has the right to be believed fully at this time.

This video shows the violent, disgusting acts of everyday “police officers”, people here to help us and our loved ones. We see 2 white women accusing this woman of damaging her car when no damage was done and the officer confirms that, but then he, a white male, proceeds to harass this woman when she refuses to give the man her name, she has every right not to give the man her name because she did nothing wrong. What is even more disgusting about this man's actions is that he endangered TWO lives the woman's and her unborn baby that was very close to birth. This video is a cruel reminder of the corruption and vile nature of the white police force.

This article shows the touching meeting of the recipient of a full facial transplant, and the donor's sister. The pictures seem very sci-fish and almost unreal but I think it is a good application of the good that science does for our society. The sister touches his face and solemnly remembers memories from her childhood in a very touching quote, “‘Wow.’ A few seconds later, she adds, ‘This is the face that I grew up with.’”. I think this story could possibly be very scary for some people but think of the life this man is getting back he can go out and do everyday things he talks about regaining aspects of his everyday life that he missed so intensely, “"I can now go out and not get the stares and have to hear comments that people would make. People used to stare at me because of my disfigurement. Now they can stare at me in amazement and in the transformation I have taken. I am now able to walk past people and no one even gives me a second look."”

I respect Taylor Swift immensely as a person, i think she has great talent, is a feminist icon and a great role model for people. What I dislike is how this article talk about her feelings towards her demeanor. This article uses a tone that insinuates that its bad for people and women especially to not be “sexy”, and especially if you take this in contrast to The media's view on Miley Cyrus. I dislike how terrible the double standard is Thats pushed upon women in the U.S. : Taylor is too prude and Miley is too much of a slut, Miley is a bad role model and Taylor is a good one. Taylor and Miley have every right to be as sexual or non sexual as they please and Theyre both great role models for young girls because they show girls it's ok to be who you are and not who you are told to be.

Holocaust Artifact

  This is an image taken from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, these are shoes taken from the prisoners of concentration camps. Shoes were one of the many personal belongings that were taken in order to the overall degradation of the Jewish people during the holocaust. I feel that this image connects to Night directly because of the fact that this did happen to Elie and his family. Also this image connects to one of the overall themes of Night, which is dehumanization. On page 24 Elie says "the world had become a hermetically sealed cattle car." He uses this quote to show the Jewish peoples sense of fear, these people were suffocating mentally and physically, they were cramped and scared and not told anything. This picture also shows us the sense of the sheer number of people that were taken. The people that had there shoes taken had all of their other personal belongings and their dignity to demean European Jews. All of these shoes have a person connected to them and a story connected to them, which shoes how cruel and disgusting the Nazi's were to the Jewish people.
